You should talk to Putzki, standing on the road to town.

Putzki confesses that he's always wanted to build one particular gift for a hero and that he's stored all the necessary components in a box. He asks you to break open the box and bring him the items inside. Break boxes by swinging at them with regular attacks, then collect the Piece of Bamboo and Wood.

You received a chair from Putzki. Putzki encouraged you by telling you that you are still a hero even though you've lost your powers.
